Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Rochester, New York.

Compensation & Bonuses- Hourly pay: $30.50 per hour
- Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter – four times per year
- Sign‑on bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday - Hours:
Second shift Tuesday – Friday 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background check including motor‑vehicle, drug, and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Carry out preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment when applicable
- Identify root causes and perform necessary repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once tasks assigned
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
- Work in compliance with all federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
