- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
- Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks.
- Performs facility maintenance duties and interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint.
- Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation tools.
- Complies with all safety, DOT, MOT, and corporate guidelines.
- Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and uses internal/external maintenance documents.
- Performs additional support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support.
- Supports OEM diagnostic tool usage and completes required OEM online diagnostic tool courses through location fleet requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) and basic diagnostics and repairs (including AC and electrical systems).
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
- All other location-specific certifications as required; valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor vehicle check for last 3 years.
- Hourly pay: $36.50 per hour.
- Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700.
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter (four times per year).
- Sign-on bonuses: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days.

Tuesday - Saturday;
Hours:
second shift Tuesday – Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. - Annual merit pay increases; on-the-job paid training; medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match; paid maternity leave for qualifying employees; PTO starts at day one with 80 hours per year; additional day off for U.S. military veterans; tuition repayment program; employer-provided PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance;
