The Part-Time Electrician will be responsible for performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with local and national electrical codes. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, outlets, switches, and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform effective, code-compliant repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Ensure all work meets NEC, local building codes, and company standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
- Valid New York State electrician license or equivalent field experience.
- Proven experience in commercial electrical work.
- Strong understanding of NEC and Rochester-area code requirements.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with electrical work.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Part-time hours (flexible scheduling; typically 15-25 hours per week).
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
