Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, and water supply systems.
  • Pipe Installation: Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with careful consideration of the existing infrastructure, such as electrical wiring.
  • Water Supply Systems: Install and maintain water supply systems, ensuring efficient and reliable service.
  • Leak Repair: Locate and repair issues with water supply lines, including leaks, to prevent damage and ensure functionality.
  • Drainage Repairs: Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Appliance Repair: Repair domestic appliances like washing machines and fixtures such as sinks, ensuring they function properly.
  • Heating Systems
    :
    Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems, including air‑conditioning units and radiators.
  • Sanitary System’s: Install waste disposal and sanitary systems, ensuring well‑functioning drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain all installed systems to ensure longevity and safety.
The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a plumber with a strong track record of reliable and high‑quality work.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • HVAC Knowledge: Working knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as domestic appliances.
  • Tool Proficiency: Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment effectively, including pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, and plungers.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • Physical Fitness: Good physical condition and strength, with the ability to work in tight or awkward spaces as needed.
  • Education: Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of a plumbing apprenticeship.
  • Licensing: Valid license to practice the plumbing profession in the state of New York.
