- The Growth & Genetics Clinical Sales Specialist (GGCSS) will promote the Growth & Genetics portfolio and be accountable to develop superior product and disease-state knowledge that enables engaging in face-to-face clinical dialogue with multi-specialty healthcare professionals.
- Use product knowledge and selling skills to engage in customized client discussions and interactions based on specific customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
- Drive outstanding performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
- Execute strategies and tactics and invest allocated budget and resources to drive territory expectations while focusing on the needs of customers and patients.
- Maintain current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers.
- Call on Pediatric Endocrinologists, Geneticists, Orthopedics, Endocrinologists, and Pediatricians as primary customers and demonstrate experience gaining access into institutions and navigating complex referral networks.
- Demonstrate tenacity in challenging market access scenarios.
- Effectively use analytical tools to understand the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives ethically and efficiently.
- Develop, communicate, and execute a business plan to achieve and surpass goals and deliver on sales objectives and behaviors.
- Collaborate with peers and internal stakeholders to maximize impact of resources to pull-through value within the territory and across Ascendis.
- Sell on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.
- Demonstrate administrative excellence in managing work hours, timely and accurate sales call data, customer objectives responses, samples and expense reporting, and other administrative tasks.
- Partner with the access team to develop strategies that drive access to the brand.
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience; preferably in rare disease and/or specialty therapeutics
- Proven history of strong performance
- Demonstrated high clinical acumen
- Ability to be resilient and flexible in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments
- Experience working with complex distribution systems and HUB services to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Thrives in a collaborative, accountability-based team
- Must be a self-starter with a hunter mentality driving excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics
- Experience working in a multi-specialty environment to ensure customers needs are addressed in a compliant way
- Demonstrated ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs
- Ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress against objectives and diagnose performance issues and identify opportunities
- Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information in a highly adaptable, ethical, and effective manner
- Ability to meet all credentialing requirements at all times, as updates or repeat screens may be necessary depending on territory, health system/customer demand, and company policy
- Valid drivers license and safe driving record
- Overnight travel required
The annual base salary for this position is $190,000
. Actual salary will vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include a company car or car allowance and eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
