Diagnostics Solutions Consultant

The Diagnostics Solutions Consultant (DSC) is a field-based, customer-facing member of the sales team responsible for selling Zoetis diagnostic instruments, tests and related products and services within an assigned US sales territory. The DSC builds and maintains customer relationships to maximize retention, achieves budgeted sales quotas within targeted accounts, and updates the sales funnel and customer profile data in the system.

The DSC collaborates with other Zoetis colleagues to support the diagnostics business. Travel within the territory is required (up to 60–70%). Fluent English is required.

• Develop and maintain thorough understanding of diagnostic products and services.
• Travel to offices of existing and prospective customers, targeting 3-4 existing customers and 3-4 new business opportunities per day. Extensive driving and periodic overnight travel (approximately 4–8 nights per month, depending on territory).
• Document all customer and prospect interactions in the online system.
• Transport equipment to customer locations as needed.
• Lift, set up and demonstrate diagnostic solutions, equipment and features.
• Explain uses and benefits of diagnostic products and services; answer questions; communicate the value proposition.
• Secure purchase orders for diagnostic products and services.
• Provide ongoing customer support (in person, by phone or email) with product, technical or service concerns; conduct periodic courtesy calls; keep clients informed of new products and services; coordinate with sales, accounting and technical staff to address questions and needs.
• Work cooperatively with the Diagnostic Technical Specialists to ensure strong customer service and enhanced utilization.
• Generate new business and leads, including placing instruments in competitor accounts, academia and research settings; gather referrals from existing customers.
• Support billing and collection efforts.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 60 lbs.

• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated sales experience, or relevant technical/clinical experience, preferably in the medical, scientific, or healthcare industry.
• Minimum of an Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred); preferably with a science or business emphasis or equivalent experience.

• Strong understanding of current and future market trends, sales initiatives, and information affecting the business and organization.
• Knows the competition and their value messaging.
• Understands how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
• Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management skills; ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and auto insurance.

Base Pay Range: $67,000 - $97,000

This position is eligible for Sales Incentive Bonus compensation.
