Overview

Job Title: Store Manager

Reports To: District Sales Manager
Salary: $20.50 - $24.50 hourly

The Store Manager oversees the store’s sales efforts in each department and supervises the store’s overall operation to ensure efficiency and profitability. Enforces and upholds the organization’s policies, goals, and standards to the sales team, aiming to meet sales goals. Communicates with the District Sales Manager and the Store Support Center to drive initiatives and business growth. Represents the company’s brand in appearance, attitude, and professionalism to employees, customers, and the community.

The Store Manager is knowledgeable in each product area or department and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Drive store sales and sales goals with a focus on company growth.
  • Manage and control company assets within the designated store.
  • Direct and oversee all sales efforts in the store; train and mentor store associates in sales strategies and skills.
  • Maintain awareness of all store aspects, including sales statistics, inventory, and expenses to support profitability.
  • Consult and collaborate with the District Sales Manager to establish and enforce policies, goals, and procedures.
  • Direct staff to ensure all department responsibilities and standards are met.
  • Mentor and cultivate a team of Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
  • Recruit, hire, train, discipline, evaluate personnel; manage payroll and schedules to meet labor goals.
  • Maintain store security; partner with Asset Protection to prevent theft and reduce shrink.
  • Communicate inventory movement to the District Sales Manager and drive inventory goals and strategies.
  • Provide information and follow through on all marketing and advertising plans; stay aware of customer trends.
  • Monitor competition and community events to identify opportunities.
  • Deliver extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including assisting customers during peak periods.
  • Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage subordinate supervisors and non-management employees, including Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training; oversee the unit’s direction, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable laws; including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Retail experience, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • Experience in managing and developing a sales team.
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience; 3+ years of management experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical thinker with business acumen; strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to customer service.
