The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position by providing self‑paced, collaborative training over sixteen weeks. Both virtual and hands‑on learning experiences develop you as a leader under the guidance of your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.
Required Skills- Communicate verbally and in writing to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer care duties to provide high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path within the program.
- Support your store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage your colleagues to support the company’s purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market where you work.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Four‑year college degree preferred or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
40 hours per week
Pay RangeTypical range: $18.50 – $23.88 per hour (base rate or full‑time salary). Actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
