Part Time Bakery Clerk Store

Salary: $15.50 – $16.50

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. A Bakery Clerk must possess reasonable knowledge in storing, preparing, and maintaining bakery products. The clerk is responsible for slicing, pricing, and packaging products, as well as maintaining shelves, cases, and displays. Clerks are also responsible for setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service.

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations and company policies regarding Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation.
• Maintain proper shelf/display conditions through cleaning, straightening, and rotating products.
• Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product.
• Take customer orders accurately for cakes or other specialty items as needed.
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to the Bakery Department.
• Maintain a Clean‑As‑You‑Go policy.
• Maintain adequate supplies.
• Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product.
• Minors may work in a sales capacity, packaging, and limited production.

Must be at least 16 years of age and 18 years of age to perform certain functions/tasks.

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Possess strong communication skills.
