The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a critical role in protecting product integrity by ensuring manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role supports operational excellence by implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections and testing, and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and consistency.

By partnering closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams, the Quality Assurance Engineer helps ensure that every product reflects Pro-Tech’s commitment to availability, accessibility, affordability, and quality.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Quality Assurance Engineer position based in Rochester, NY. The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance systems that ensure product integrity, manufacturing consistency, and operational reliability across all production and logistics processes.

The role focuses on protecting product performance and customer value by supporting design validation, process control, and production quality monitoring within the snow and heavy equipment attachment industry. Working closely with engineering, production, procurement, and operations teams, the Quality Assurance Engineer will help ensure that every product manufactured by Pro-Tech Manufacturing & Distribution meets established quality, safety, and durability standards.

Key responsibilities include developing quality inspection standards, supporting material and component validation, conducting root cause and corrective action analysis, and improving manufacturing process reliability. The Quality Assurance Engineer will participate in product design, process design, product testing, audit production workflows, review supplier quality performance, and help establish structured quality control documentation.

This role will also be responsible for assuring the accuracy of shipments, identifying process improvement opportunities, reducing defect rates, supporting warranty and field performance analysis, and maintaining quality reporting metrics that support operational decision making.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a disciplined engineering mindset. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of manufacturing quality systems with practical problem-solving ability to reinforce Pro-Tech’s commitment to our employees, customers and industry.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field required (advanced technical certification or graduate degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance, preferably within heavy equipment, industrial products, construction equipment, or welded fabrication environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with Solid Works or equivalent CAD systems.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS), process control methodologies, and production quality verification.
  • Experience supporting product design and validation, material inspection, and manufacturing process qualification.
  • Proficiency in quality data analysis, defect tracking, and performance reporting.
