Quality & Safety Lead

Position Summary

Assist in compliance with Thruways Quality Management System (QMS) which is certified to ISO-9001 (as revised), and AS-9120 (as revised). Continually improve quality performance, customer satisfaction and technical alignment of products to customers specs, prints, standards, fit/form/function.

This individual has responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

• Conducttimelyandaccurateinspectionsofincomingitemsrequiringqualityinspection.
• Evaluateandreviewcustomerdrawingsandspecificationsagainstsupplychainprovided products to ensure products meet or exceed all requirements.
• Facilitateapprovalofalternateproductsasneededwith Customerand Thruwayteams .
• Prepareandsubmitaccuratequalitydocumentation(e.g.,MTRs,CoCs,FAIs,ISIRs,PPAPs) tomeet customer requirements.
• Maintainandcoordinatecalibrationofmeasuringandtestingequipment,ensuringallresourcesare properly documented.
• Assist the CQM and GM in training and ensuring branch personnel follow the Thruway quality manual (QM), procedures (PR), and work instructions (WI). Elevate non-compliance to the General Manager and Corporate Quality Manager.
• Notifythe
  
  CQMofanyideasforimprovement,withsuggestionsandreasoning.
• Prepareforandundergoaudits:
  
  Customerand/or Certificationasneeded
• Perform and document monthly 6S Audits. Distribute audit report to the the General Manager and Corporate Quality Manager.
• Helpcoordinatethecompletionactionitemsrequiredtorectifyany6
  
  Sauditfindings.
• Identifypotentialsafetyhazardsandimplementproactivemeasurestopreventincidentsand accidents.
• Supportthedevelopmentandreinforcementofastrongsafetyculturewhereeveryteam member is empowered and accountable for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Escalate major quality issues to the General Manager and Corporate Quality Manager.
• Issue,respond,completeandclose
  
  CAPA’sasrequired,withoutun-duedelay.
• Review Branch Parts -Per-Million(PPM) returnstoensureproperreasoncodeswereutilized.
• Assistwithphysicalinventoryandwarehousefunctionsasrequiredandtimely

• Documented Experience (2+ years) in a direct quality role preferred
• Experience in manufacturing environments and Electro/Mechanical hardware preferred
• OSHA
  10preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

The majority of the time will be spent onsite at the Thruway distribution facility. Occasional travel to other Thruway facilities (NY, PA, GA) or customer locations may be required.

Monday-Friday Day shift

Pay: $21.63 - $24.03 per hour
