Companion Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team!

At Companion Animal Hospital, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. Our ideal candidate is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, and pays attention to detail. Our Veterinary Technicians are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures.
A full-time position requires working between 30-40 hours a week, including a combination of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. One weekend shift is required.
Our Ideal Candidate:- Is licensed in the state of New York or has the ability to transfer their license
- Has a professional yet upbeat demeanor, promoting a positive attitude among co-workers
- Is dependable and reliable
- Has prior veterinary experience
- Assisting veterinarians in the treatment of animals with proficient technical skills including restraint, radiology, emergency procedures, surgical and dental procedures, nursing care, and client education
- Obtain laboratory samples and perform needed tests
- Administer and fill prescription medications
- Maintain the treatment room, including equipment maintenance and supplies management
- Maintain a professional demeanor and ensure courteous communication with clients
- Support and mentor fellow team members
- Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology
- Valid New York State Veterinary Technology license
- Ability to lift heavy pets and objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfort and confidence in handling large animals
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform bending, squatting, reaching, and pulling
Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, starting at $21-23/hr the actual rate will consider your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
