Shift: 3x12 Hour Rotating (Day/Night) | 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM / 07:00 PM – 07:00 AM
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Important Requirement:
Must have an active NY RN License in hand – No exceptions.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg/Telemetry unit at a high-volume Tertiary Care Hospital. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care for a diverse patient population including cardiac and post-surgical cases. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple patients while delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to Med Surg and Telemetry patients.
- Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions including CHF, acute MI, arrhythmias, and post-device care (pacemakers).
- Care for general surgery patients including colon/rectal procedures, ostomies, plastic and cosmetic surgery patients, and breast reconstruction cases.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to patient condition changes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care.
- Active NY RN License (Required – Must be in hand).
- Minimum 1 year RN experience.
- BLS Certification required.
- EPIC charting experience required.
- Must be comfortable with Med Surg ratios of 1:5 – 1:7 patients.
- Floating is required.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Local candidates not accepted (must live outside 75-mile radius).
- Shift: 3x12 Day/Night Rotation (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00)
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- 26-bed unit: Primarily cares for CHF patients, acute MI, post-device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmia patients.
- 51-bed unit: General surgery patients including colon/rectal, ostomies, plastic and cosmetic surgery, breast procedures, and reconstruction surgeries.
