Blossom Healthcare Center is currently seeking an RN supervisor. Must have extensive RN management experience.
RNDuties Include:
- Responds to emergencies involving the Resident or unit
- Communicates with families regarding the Resident's plan of care and any changes in the condition of the Resident.
- Receives and communicates information to the staff and keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of needs and current developments.
- Supervises the RN, LPN, and NA trainees during the orientation period and/or delegates this responsibility to the Shift Supervisor or Registered Nurse on the designated shift.
- Completes the performance appraisals of RN's and LPN's, collaborating with the Shift Supervisors on appraisals for evening and night shifts
- Conducts nursing (quality) rounds monthly and as needed on all shifts.
- Educates staff, oversees the implementation of new policies and procedures and periodically reviews current procedures, working in collaboration with the DON/ADON on Development as needed.
- Handle all supervisory duties for the unit.
- Establish employee policies and procedures.
- Mentor less experienced nurses, offering clinical & career advice.
- Establish the standards of care for the unit.
- Review Resident records & quality of care.
- Monitor overall care & review individual Residents’ cases.
- Address questions or complaints brought forward by Residents or their families.
- Ensure the department is well-stocked with medical supplies.
- Represent the unit's interests with the upper level management.
- Minimum 2 years Long-Term Care Experience.
- Minimum 1-year Unit Manager experience.
- Must hold valid RN License. (Required)
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Basic computer skills.
