Overview
Registered Nurse – Float Pool at Unity Hospital, Rochester Regional Health (Rochester, MN 14626). 24‑hour part‑time schedule: rotating days/nights, 12‑hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday.
As an RN in the float pool, you provide high‑quality, patient‑centered, clinical care across multiple medical‑surgical units, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient and family needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion. You will be trained on all units, then assigned to a specific unit each day based on hospital needs.
Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality, patient‑centered, clinical care.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessment, utilizing appropriate data (e.g., physical, psychological, educational, and risk‑screen data appropriate for the patient’s developmental age).
- Communicate and document assessment findings with the interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and document an individualized plan of care, treatment, and services aligned with patient needs, strengths, limitations, and goals.
- Comply with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, including safety, medication administration, and documentation.
- Revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and update documentation accordingly.
- Complete at least one Clinical Research Utilization (CRU) form, citing a research article from the last five years performed in the United States.
- Complete a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year.
- Complete mandatory in‑services and health screens in a timely manner.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse license in the State of New York.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- At least 6 months of experience.
- Additional certification or education in nursing discipline.
BLS – Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (AHA). RN – Registered Nurse – New York State Education Department (NYSED).
Physical RequirementsMedium work: occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force, frequently 10 to 25 pounds, and constantly up to 10 pounds to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting. Disease‑specific care programs may have additional requirements.
