Position: Medical Surgical Unit - Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse

Shift:7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience within the past 24 months.

• Travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New York license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local&travel allowed.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program:
Aya Program - Rochester Regional Health System and no current placement allowed at Program:
Aya Program - Rochester Regional Health System.

Additional Details:

Required skills and experience:Must be able to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN;
Acute Care experience within the last 2 years. Vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, physical restraints, specimen labeling, Oxygen administration via nasal cannula, Feeding tube management, Telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKG. Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops), IV therapy with pumps, blood glucose monitoring. Wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains), bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean catch urine collection, communication of status changes to RN/MD, MS/Tele care setting.

Medications, Antianxiety, Antidepressants, Antihypertensives, Skin, Bathing: sitz, tub, bed, shower, Mouth care, Pressure Ulcer Assessment/Prevention, Simple dressing changes, Wound drains/JP/Hemovac, Endocrine /Metabolic, Blood Glucose Monitoring/Testing, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Professional Topics and Skills, Communication of patient status changes to RN/MD, Intake and Output monitoring, Isolation Precautions, Labeling of specimens, Pain assessment&management, Physical restraints, Vital Sign monitoring, Neurological, Medication Administration, Ear Drops, Eye Drops, IM&SQ, NG Tube/G Tube, Oral, Subcutaneous, Hospice, Genitourinary/Renal, Foley catheter insertion female, Foley catheter insertion male, Obtain/Instruct clean catch urine, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Telemetry Monitoring: on the unit monitoring, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, IV pumps, Work Settings, MS/Tele, Respiratory, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Cardiac-Care of the Patient

Preferred skills and experience:Wound Care/Wound Vac, Colostomy care and management, De-Escalation Protocols, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), End of life care, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Starting and maintaining IVs, Permanent Pacemaker

Required credentials:Lab Completion:
All health-related requirements and lab work must be completed within 5 calendar days of signing. Drivers License/State  issued photo .

Shift&schedule requirements:Every Other Weekend. Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Special request requirements:RTO/Block&Special Scheduling Requests:
Must submit requests upon submission

Unit and facility details:Medical patients– COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, social issues

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 2 years (Any reference type) - required for submission

Proof of identification required
