Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current NY license and strong ED clinical skills for varied 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in a busy Emergency Department caring for combined adult and pediatric populations

• Evening shift from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM with three 12-hour shifts per week

• Patient ratios are 1:5 with mixed and shared acuity levels

• Floating required when census warrants

• Every other weekend work is required

• Uses Epic charting system;
Epic experience is required

• Scrub colors are any combination of navy and white

• Provide advanced emergency nursing for adult and pediatric patients including CVA management and care of patients on isolation precautions

• Responsibilities include managing complex cases and handling high-acuity patients

• First-time travelers are accepted for this opportunity

• Minimal RTO preferred during contract; all requested time off must be disclosed up front

• Must not have been employed by this health system within the past year

• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract

• Required to complete pre-start online modules prior to beginning the assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration

• Minimum of 1 year Emergency Department RN experience required

• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS

• Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation

• Must be proficient with Epic EMR

• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
