Overview

Job Title: Registered Nurse
Department: Intensive Care Unit
Location: Newark Wayne Hospital
Hours Per Week: 36
Schedule: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am + every other weekend and holiday
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Responsibilities- Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate with interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintain an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provide an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
- Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities.
- Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; act as a resource for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; serve as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Registered Nurse License in the State of New York.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.
- Associates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred.
- 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills.

Physical RequirementsMedium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
