Job Description: The W7 Quality & Flow Nurse is to assist with admissions and discharges, and assist with other unit needs throughout the day with the focus on improving flow and quality of care.
Hours Options: 4-10-hour shifts or 5-8-hour shifts — times: 10am-6pm or 8am-6pm
West 7 – General Medicine/Surgical
Partnered with the UR Medicine Complex Care Center, providing specialized care for patients with Sickle Cell Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, and complex health conditions.
Responsibilities- Assist with admissions and discharges and assist with other unit needs throughout the day with focus on improving flow and quality of care.
- Provide professional nursing services for patients and families and for the nursing department. Collaborate with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment.
- Use the nursing process and evidence-based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.
- Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, serve as Level II RN accountable for provision of competent patient care based on established standards and the nursing process.
- May assume expanded unit roles as available and assigned by the Nurse Manager (e.g., charge nurse or preceptor).
- Support peers in the delivery of patient care, use appropriate team communication methods, and practice care that reflects the patient condition and priorities.
- Contribute to safe unit environment and operations, identify opportunities for self-growth, and contribute to the development of other learners.
- Minimum 6 months RN expertise in an acute care setting.
- BS in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers preferred).
PAY RANGE: $38.76 - $50.33
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:
