Overview
ED Nurse Residency program
- December 2025 new grads at Highland Hospital of Rochester NY. The program offers newly licensed Registered Nurses the knowledge and skills needed to transition from a novice nurse to a competent advanced beginner in the emergency department setting. Your orientation will begin in March 2026.
- Provide professional nursing services for patients and their families and/or the nursing department. Collaborate with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Use the nursing process and evidence-based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.
The Level I Registered Nurse (RN) is a new Associate Degree (AD) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) graduate who is completing the Nursing Practice Orientation Program with up to 6 months of clinical experience post-licensure. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Level I nurse is accountable for provision of direct care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process.
The Level I nurse supports peers in delivering patient care in an organized manner, prioritizing safety and teamwork. The Level I nurse contributes to unit activities that enhance patient care outcomes. Upon completion of the six-month evaluation and meeting performance expectations, the nurse may be advanced to Level II RN.
PAY RANGE: $38.00 - $41.00. The final salary will be determined within the range based on factors including education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.
Job Requirements- New licensed RN with 0-6 months of experience in RN role. BS in Nursing preferred. Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers preferred).
