The 4300 Unit at Unity Hospital is a 20‑bed, moderately‑acute telemetry unit that specializes in the care of patients with a wide range of medical conditions. In addition to telemetry, the unit provides specialized care in peritoneal dialysis, and offers opportunities for professional growth in wound care, critical infusions, and pain management.

• Diverse and complex patient population
  • Telemetry & acute medical conditions – close monitoring and intervention
  • Peritoneal dialysis – chronic and newly initiated; use of Amia cyclers or manual exchanges
  • Drug and alcohol withdrawal – CIWA protocol
  • Complex wound care – wounds vacs, pressure ulcers, etc.
  • Critical infusions & PCA pain management – insulin drips, Cardizem drips, heparin drips, PCA
• Collaborative interdisciplinary team – nurses, physicians, social workers, surgeons, respiratory therapists, wound care experts

Status: Full time
Location: Unity Hospital, Rochester, NY 14626
Department: Telemetry, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Complex Care Unit (4300)
Schedule: Day/Evening/Night – every other weekend/holiday
Pay Range: $37.17 – $49.92 per hour

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Minimum 6 months experience as a registered nurse
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

• Assessment – perform initial and ongoing assessment; communicate and document with interdisciplinary team
• Planning & Implementation – develop and document plan of care; collaborate with team; maintain appropriate nurse‑patient relationship
• Evaluation & Education – evaluate, communicate, and document patient responses; revise plan of care; provide education/training
• Training – provide training for new team members; teach nursing students/other shadowing students; serve as resource for clinical and non‑clinical matters

Education: BS in Nursing (required)
Licenses/Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association; RN – New York State Education Department

Medium work: exerting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds constantly; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
