Family Nurse Practitioner – Full Time – Highland Family Medicine

Join the Highland Hospital of Rochester, NY as a Family Nurse Practitioner in our Highland Family Medicine Office located at 777 S. Clinton Avenue, just around the corner from HH.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care, coordination of clinical services, and assurance of continuity of care.
  • Resident and student education, assisting coordination of team functions.
  • Provide direct care to patients from neonate through geriatrics following community standards, Family Medicine protocols, and NP standards.
  • Practice within the scope of New York State Nurse Practitioner regulations and, if DEA registered, federal DEA prescriptive regulations.
  • Examine patients and prescribe treatment for acute and chronic health care, preventive and restorative care, and evaluation of physical, mental, and developmental function.
Salary Range

$98,000.00 – $ annually

Job Requirements
  • Education
    :
    Licensed NP in NYS; specialization in Family Practice desirable; other specialty training considered.
  • Experience
    : 3-5 years experience as an RN prior to Master's; minimum 1 year as practicing Family Nurse Practitioner in ambulatory primary care; 3-5 years as FNP in ambulatory care desirable; bilingual and teaching experience desired.
  • License/Certification
    :
    Licensure to practice as NP in NYS; state certification for family NP with full prescriptive privileges; federal DEA registration to prescribe Category II–V drugs; preferred national organization certification.
  • Skills
    :
    Effective verbal & written communication; independent clinical practice ability; demonstrate competence with gynecological procedures (IUD insertions, implant devices, injection contraceptives, immunizations) within 1 month of hire.
