Float day-to-day to inpatient medical/surgical units, observation units, and occasionally the ED.

Provides professional nursing services for patients and their families and/or for the nursing department. Collaborates with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses use the nursing process and evidence‑based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.

• Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, accountable for provision of competent patient care based on established standards and the nursing process.
• May assume expanded unit roles as available and assigned by Nurse Manager as a charge nurse or preceptor.
• Supports peers in the delivery of patient care, uses appropriate team communication methods, and practices care that reflects the patient condition and priorities.
• Provides support to team problem solving and identifies opportunities for self‑growth, contributing to the development of other learners.
• Contributes to safe unit environment and operations.

$38.76 - $50.33 per hour.

• Minimum 6 months RN expertise in an acute care setting.
• BS in Nursing preferred.
• Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers).
