Title: RN Assistant Nurse Manager
Department/Cost Center: 634 - West 6
West 6 is a 38-bed unit serving general medical patients with acute care needs. Work with a dynamic, motivated and passionate leader team. This Assistant Nurse Manager position will serve as the Unit Educator — this position will primarily work Days and Evenings (with some nights).
ResponsibilitiesProvide professional nursing services, leadership of nursing staff, leadership within the organization, and management of operational processes to serve patients and their families and/or serve the nursing department. Collaborate with other health care providers and health care team members to achieve expected patient and organization outcomes. Focus efforts on improvement of the care environment.
Lead using the nursing process, appropriate leadership and management theory and practices, and evidence-based nursing practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.

Level IV Assistant Nurse Manager responsibilities: The ANM is accountable for supporting standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care. The ANM is involved in unit, service, nursing department, and institutional activities; contributes to goal achievement through personal action and facilitation of others. The ANM participates in community and professional organizations, demonstrates commitment to promoting nursing visibility and future.
The ANM provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and models effective communication. It includes involvement in human resources management, development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and monitoring of patient and operational outcomes. The ANM may take on expanded unit roles as assigned by the Nurse Manager, including Education, Orientation, Precepting, Quality Management and Improvement, Business Operations, Safety, Standards Development and Recruitment and Retention efforts.
The Level IV ANM may assume an expanded unit role as available and assigned by Nurse Manager.
Pay range: 98,102.
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within the compensation range based on factors including education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity.
Job Requirements- 3-5 years recent RN experience in an acute care setting
- BS in Nursing preferred
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers preferred)
