Job Description

Supervised by a Registered Nurse or Physician, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) guides patients through a seamless process to ensure their care is of the highest quality and delivered efficiently. The LPN directs patients through appointments, provides nursing services during care, and conducts phone triage. LPN collaborates in care planning discussions with RN, MD or other providers to determine urgency of care needs, triage emergent situations to the appropriate provider, and schedule acute care appointments to maximize patient care opportunities and unit efficiency.

LPN maintains the flow of the provider schedule during patient care sessions, minimizing patient wait time whenever possible. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Range: $25.79-$33.20 per hour

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Licensed Practical Nurse in NY State.
  • Experience:

    Minimum six months of LPN experience preferred; outpatient primary care and/or pediatric experience preferred.
  • License/Certification:
    New York State licensed practical nurse; current American Heart Association CPR and AED certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of age‑specific medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
    • Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
    • Understanding of documentation standards.
    • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment.
    • Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.
    • Knowledge of infection prevention, infectious disease management, and safety standards.
