LPN/LVN - 13 week contract assignment in Rochester, NY

13 week contract assignment for a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in Rochester, NY. The position is a short‑term assignment that provides skilled nursing services to patients in hospitals, long‑term care and psychiatric facilities, and other health care facilities.

Pay range

$35.00/hr

Requirements
  • Accredited licensed practical nursing program completion.
  • Current and unencumbered licensed practical nursing license in the state of practice.
  • At least one year of recent experience (within the last three years).
Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing acts and tasks under the delegation and supervision of a registered nurse, medical physician or mid‑level provider.
  • Administer nursing procedures including sterile dressing, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, tube feeding, oxygen therapy, range‑of‑motion therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, pre‑ and post‑operative care, and other patient care tasks.
  • Set up prescribed medications and administer medications orally, intramuscularly or subcutaneously.
  • Monitor medication effects, record medication administration and patient reactions.
  • Assist in rehabilitation programming and activities for residents including social skill development, daily living skill development, reality orientation and recreational skills.
  • Record treatment given to patients and monitor patients’ health.
  • Transport and accompany patients to procedures.
  • If IV certified, perform limited IV tasks as permitted.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Provide patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner and preserve patient autonomy, rights and dignity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
