Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a current NY RN license and EPIC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting

• Night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week for a 13-week assignment

• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7

• Care involves cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions

• Uses Epic for charting; experience with Epic is required

• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday if needed

• Floating within skillset to similar units may be required

• Duties include providing comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients

• Must be able to manage and respond to cardiac monitoring alarms and emergencies

• Scrub attire is any combination of navy blue and white

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active New York single state RN license required at time of consideration

• Current BLS certification required

• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required

• Recent acute care experience within the past 6 months required

• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation/management and rapid response/code activation required

• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required

• Epic EMR experience required

• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
