Licensed Vocational Nurse

Job Summary:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides nursing care as directed by a Registered Nurse on the nursing unit. Responsibilities include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner, consistent with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

- Gather and report patient data.
- Carry out physician orders accurately.
- Perform therapeutic procedures on patients.
- Provide nursing care as directed by a Registered Nurse.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Current LPN/LVN licensure in the state of New York.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to take own patient assignment with RN support.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital experience.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines.
- 2 years of experience in direct patient care.

Special Considerations:

- Every other weekend work is required.

Scheduling:
- 4x12 hour day shifts.
