Location: City of Rochester

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing-North is currently seeking a Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating fabrication equipment. This role involves interpreting blueprints, performing welding tasks, and ensuring the quality and integrity of fabricated products.

About Us:

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing has specialized in medium- to high-volume contract metal stamping, progressive die stamping, and CNC machining since 1970.

Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing specializes in both deep-draw and progressive die stamping. We are equipped with man servo, high-speed, mechanical, and hydraulic stamping presses ranging from 30 to 400 tons. Our machines are optimized for automation with in-die contact and non-contact sensors. We are also experts in secondary put-and-take operations for parts that cannot be completed in a progressive die. Additionally, we have multiple 5-axis Emmegi XT extrusion milling centers with a bed capacity of 30 feet, plus turrets, lasers, and more.

Position Overview
  • Welding:
    • Perform various welding processes, including MIG
      , TIG
      , and stick welding
      , to join metal components accurately and according to industry standards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation:
    • Read and accurately interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Quality and Safety:
    • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards, making adjustments or repairs as needed.
    • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and degreasing to ensure proper adhesion and weld quality.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance and

    Collaboration:

    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding and fabrication equipment to minimize downtime.
    • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other fabricators to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a welder/fabricator.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding
    .
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality assurance.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Total Compensation Package

    • This role is based in the State of New York which requires the disclosure of salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00 per hour. Elmira Stamping & Manufacturing provides salary ranges as a good faith estimate of what the company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Compensation offered to a selected candidate may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) a candidate's job‑related qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
