JOB SUMMARY
The Packaging Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of high-speed packaging equipment in a very fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions through understanding of power transmission systems, fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics), and other machine components and systems.
- Locate root cause of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Assist with change-overs and prepare machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. Diagnose and prioritize problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust as required to return machinery to service.
- Understand production systems and machinery thoroughly to identify and correct to avoid unnecessary repeated downtime. Anticipate wear and/or downtime through routine observation and operator feedback.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track completed work orders and schedule future work.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow all safety and company policies at all times.
- Perform other various job duties as needed.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and/or repairing manufacturing equipment is preferred.

Pay Rate: $24.35 – 36.45/hour, depending on qualifications and experience. The reference pay range represents step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
