Plant Manager - Plastics - Base Salary to 160k/year - Rochester, NY

The Plant Manager is responsible for daily production, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency and directing all plant operations from scheduling and maintenance, to inventory and budget management.
Responsibilities- Partner with Department Managers, Supervisors, and Engineering to assess manufacturing operations and resolve issues related to safety, productivity, quality, and workforce capability.
- Address personnel and performance issues through direct collaboration with departmental leadership, ensuring timely and appropriate corrective actions.
- Lead divisional alignment by developing operational goals in partnership with peer managers and ensuring consistency with corporate objectives.
- Apply mechanical and process knowledge to evaluate equipment capability, production methods, and daily manufacturing challenges; determine whether issues stem from people, process, or machinery and deploy appropriate resources.
- Serve as leader of the Safety Center of Excellence, actively participating in safety committees and driving initiatives to eliminate workplace injuries and accidents.
- Coordinate production priorities by monitoring backlog, schedules, and capacity in collaboration with Production Control and Department Managers.
- Manage, evaluate, and develop direct reports by setting clear performance goals and delivering timely, accurate performance reviews.
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing schedules and activities to ensure products meet quality, safety, and specification requirements.
- Optimize the use of materials, equipment, and labor to improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze production, quality, maintenance, and operational data to identify root causes of nonconformance and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including profit improvement plans, short‑ and long‑term divisional goals, and cross‑functional problem‑solving teams.
- Recommend and support capital projects that improve safety, productivity, and quality.
- Monitor divisional and departmental spending to ensure cost control and financial alignment.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety rules, GMPs, food safety standards, and required training for all manufacturing personnel.
- Demonstrate accountability, strong work ethic, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Extrusion Laminating and/or Coating is required.
- Experience in plastics is required.
- Ability to work on-site near Rochester, NY.
- Base salary to 160k/year
