Overview
As a member of the Samuel Management Team, work effectively with operations staff as well as office staff to meet customer expectations. Organize and direct supervisors, warehouse, shipping, receiving and maintenance staff. Oversee all aspects of operations.

Responsibilities
- Ensure priorities of Safety, Quality, and Productivity are maintained at the forefront of all activities.
- Encourage individuals and teams to see the big picture, draw on each other’s strengths and experience to work collaboratively across the organization, set expectations, and provide accurate and helpful feedback.

- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and company-wide strategic planning and implementation.

- Responsible for capital projects required to maintain the plant and/or operations from initiation of capital funds request to completion of the project.
- Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Role model and ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors.
- Other duties as required.
- Manage all non-materials inventory. Ensure packaging supplies and all R&M parts and tools meet operational requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance of the equipment and facility.
Role requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably within the metals industry.
- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience.
- Completion of post-secondary education preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of shop drawings and blueprints is required.
Equipment knowledge
- Experience in the application of lean principles such as 5S, visual systems, standardized work, and kaizen would be an asset.
- General knowledge of material processing equipment such as burn tables, cranes, forklifts, drill tables, etc.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, AS400).

Salary range: $93,120-$128,040
