This is a training position where the employee will learn skilled maintenance, repair tasks, and the safe operation of equipment over a twenty-four (24) month training period. The employee will learn to operate small and large trucks, and at least one of the following: loader, packer, Link belt, roller, plow, backhoe, sweeper, Vactor, Jet Flusher, compressor, or Drott. The employee will undertake mechanical, maintenance, and repair assignments, and will be required to obtain a NYS Learner’s Permit for a Class
* B* CDL within the minimum probationary period, and a full Class
* B* CDL within 52 weeks, with training provided. Upon successful completion, the employee will be promoted to Motor Equipment Operator. Work may require being on 24-hour call, working outdoors in all weather, and performing tasks in confined spaces. Supervision is provided; supervision is not a responsibility of the employee. Failure to complete training or obtain necessary licenses will result in removal from the position.

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
