Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Duration: 1 Year (May 2026 – April 2027) with up to four (4) additional one-year extensions

Position Type: Contract

Hours Per Week: Standard (Mon–Fri, 6 AM – 5 PM ET for business hours; on-call for critical issues outside business hours)

The objective of this RFP is to procure professional Oracle Database Administration (DBA) services to:

• Maintain uninterrupted, stable operation of MCWA’s Oracle database environment
• Provide expert monitoring, health checks, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery support
• Ensure 15-minute RPO capability for production systems
• Maintain business continuity across Production, QA, and DR environments
• The engagement covers ongoing DBA services and regular patching/upgrades beginning May 2026.

• Provide knowledgeable and expert monitoring and health checks for Oracle database and make required modifications as necessary to ensure uninterrupted stable operation of the production environment.
• Manage Oracle Service requests when Oracle technical support is required.
• Create and manage table spaces and data files as necessary.
• Create Oracle database users and roles as requested by MCWA.
• Manage Oracle initialization parameters and spfiles to maintain database performance and stability.
• Manage the configuration of networking components on supported databases, including the creation of database links between supported databases.
• Apply Oracle software patches to supported databases as required.
• Manage database backups to internal MCWA servers and verify database backup execution while testing restores regularly.
• Implement backups, other database maintenance procedures, and software using industry-standard tools at the expense of the vendor.
• Maintain the current ability to recover data to the most recent 15-minute window in production systems.
• Regularly test database backup recovery during the contract period.
• Assist with planned outages and disaster-recovery exercises.
• Assist with migration to DR environment and back for unplanned outages.
• Assist with patching and updating of Oracle Linux as needed.
• Provide thorough documentation regarding the backup process.
• Refresh data from production to test environments upon customer request.
