* The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. *** Responsibilities:
** The Business Intelligence Developer II completes development activities as assigned. Additionally, the Business Intelligence Developer II assists the team with advanced design and development activities and configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, security of reporting and associated applications, supporting the core University systems and applications. This position will serve as a backup report administrator for the primary application tools. The Business Intelligence Developer II utilizes software to identify metrics and recommend appropriate tasks.
The Business Intelligence Developer II provides support to research teams or management by collecting and analyzing data and reporting results based on the needs of end users and collaborates with various functional teams based on their area of focus, and IT to achieve business results.
** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*** Works with users and other Business Intelligence Developers to understand and document reporting requirements.
Lead design sessions to capture requirements and data for report development.
Translate the business requirements into report specifications and reviews report specifications to ensure those requirements are met. Analyzes and synthesizes complex and diverse information gathered from senior management and end users to develop new reports and reporting systems, as needed.
* Designs, develops and implements complex dashboard reports and visualizations to support the University’s goals. This includes executive reports as well as function specific reporting.
* Writes complex ad-hoc queries and reports using various reporting/database tools to support research, financial, and executive initiatives.
* Oversees and contributes to the development and maintenance of environments that support the applications used for report writing.
Designs and conducts various data testing techniques against the deliverable.
Develops SQL queries and modifications to facilitate problem resolution and reporting needs. Provides mentorship to other developers and power users in training and the adoption of standards.
* Supports the University’s communications outlets for reporting tools in various platform support groups. Coordinates with other resources (programmers, analysts) to achieve goals and collaborate for solutions. Maintains current knowledge of technology, equipment, and/or systems.
* Performs other related duties, including presentation of seminars, courses and instruction on computer services as required. Participates in on-call responding to application issues as they occur.

** MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
*** High School diploma or equivalent required
* Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Science or Engineering preferred
