OverviewHighland Hospital is seeking an innovative, team‑oriented Benefits Manager to join its growing Human Resources team. With over 125 years of providing high‑quality patient care to the Rochester community, this role offers meaningful work and strong teamwork.
Job Description- Manage all aspects of Highland Hospital's benefits—including medical, dental, vision, HSAs, FSAs, life & disability, voluntary benefits, pension, 403(b), EAP, education benefits, and leave administration.
- Recommend and implement benefits program strategy aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Analyze benefits programs and recommend cost‑effective modifications based on best practices and emerging trends.
- Research complex benefits administrative issues and develop and implement solutions.
- Design and implement policies and procedures for benefits and leave administration.
- Oversee leave administration processes, policies, and recordkeeping, including FMLA, NYS Paid Family Leave, Workers Compensation, and other special leaves.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal partners (Payroll, Finance, IT, Recruiting, Learning & Development, HRIS/Compliance, Legal) to administer the benefits program and solve related business problems.
- Act as a member of the HR Leadership Team, ensuring cross‑functional collaboration aligned with HR objectives.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing the benefits budget and analyzing variances.
- Assist in developing Highland’s bargaining proposals and analyzing Union benefits demands.
- Partner with Highland entities to assist them in administering their benefits plans and Open Enrollment.
- Participate in benefits surveys and benchmark activities, assess results, and make recommendations that support workforce diversity, equity, and high‑value benefits offerings.

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual salaries will be set within this range based on market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.
Job Requirements- Education:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a related field. - Experience:
7+ years of benefits management experience. - Leader capable of managing multiple complex projects, deep understanding of complicated benefits programs, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical skills.
