Guest Services Representative - Staybridge Suites Hotel

Overview

The Staybridge Suites Rochester University hotel is looking for an enthusiastic Full or Part-Time hospitality professional to join our Guest Services Team. Hotel or restaurant customer service experience is required.

Experience is preferred but not necessary.

Great attitude, personality, dedication and willingness to provide top-notch guest experiences is what it’s all about. We can train you on the skills, but you need to provide the rest.

Evening and weekend availability is required. We offer competitive pay based upon experience, as well as outstanding benefits including travel discounts around the world!

The position starts between $15-$16 per hour (depending on experience).

Responsibilities
  • Daily Front Desk:
    Greet guests, check them in/out, assign rooms, provide transportation, and support all hotel functions in a manner that exceeds company quality service and profit expectations.
  • Practice professional telephone etiquette, answer within three rings, and transfer using the appropriate greeting.
  • Check guests in and out, obtaining all pertinent information at check-in while upholding company and brand standards.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and/or complaints in a timely and professional manner; record requests and complaints to ensure follow-up and communication to management.
  • Inform guests of hotel services (e.g., continental breakfast hours, wake-up calls, express check-out, local call exchanges, newspaper delivery).
  • Post charges such as faxes, copies, dry cleaning, and postage; handle payments for guest charges and maintain the front desk cash drawer and balance accounts per shift.
  • Take reservation calls and input guest reservations.
  • Maintain the hotel’s key control log while issuing property keys.
  • Check and maintain front desk equipment; troubleshoot basic issues (copier, fax, printers, PMS), clear paper jams, and replace toner/ paper as needed.
  • Perform daily Room Status Inquiry Reports to ensure registration cards are present with proper signature, name, and room number (if applicable).
  • Block and maintain rooms for VIP or special requests and communicate pertinent information to housekeeping or other departments.
  • Complete all duties of the front desk checklist and related reports; distribute completed forms to appropriate staff.
  • Qualifications
    • Prior customer service experience required; valid driver’s license required.
    • Strong desire to provide exceptional guest services.
    • Excellent attitude, personality, and dedication; ability to work evenings and weekends.
    • Experience in hotel or restaurant guest services is preferred but not necessary; right attitude and dedication are more important.
    • Hotel experience is a plus but not required.

    • Sunday – Saturday, 3pm–11pm (with weekend availability; rotation schedule when available).
