Description:

Duties include technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for the ambulatory surgical center while adhering to principles of sterile techniques.
Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments.
Assists the clinical staff by performing assistive and advocacy services in caring for patients.
Follows policies, protocols, techniques, and manufacturer's guidelines when reprocessing, assembling, and maintaining specialized instruments and equipment.
Responsible for proper care of instruments and equipment, ensuring utilization is in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.
Initiates and participates in quality assurance and continuous quality monitoring and utilizes results to recommend changes as indicated.
Documents required information and maintains records for instruments and equipment.
Undertakes continuous education and training in all areas of sterile processing, including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes.
Identifies, picks, and distributes supplies and stock items, including equipment requests and deliveries to appropriate areas.
Monitors stock levels and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing.
Responsible for providing biological and chemical test solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
