Position Overview

The Nuclear Cardiology Technologist plays a key role in URMC’s commitment to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge imaging technology in a supportive academic environment, contributing to research and clinical innovation that directly improves patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced nuclear cardiology studies (SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET/CT) with precision and clinical expertise
  • Provide compassionate, patient-focused care—explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of safety
  • Acquire and process diagnostic images, perform daily quality control, and oversee radiopharmacy operations in compliance with NYSDOH guidelines
  • Document and manage patient data using the eRecord “CUPID” system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nuclear Cardiology and team members to introduce new technologies and continuously refine laboratory protocols

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine from an accredited program required
  • Experience in Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • New York State License in Nuclear Medicine required (or eligibility for a temporary license pending NMTCB or ARRT(N) results)
  • Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an approved program preferred
