Overview
Performs medically prescribed diagnostic echo cardiographic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics, utilizing various modes and techniques, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, M-Mode, color flow, pulse wave, and continuous wave Doppler, in accordance with accepted protocols.

Responsibilities- Able to appropriately determine the clinical question being addressed
- Reviews the patient's chart and history
- Refers to the physician, as needed
- Utilizes imaging protocols established by the American Society of Echocardiography, ICAEL Echo Standards
- Enters patient demographics on the ultrasound machine
- Utilizes proper patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal image
- Other duties as assigned
- A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound is required
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Prior Sonographer experience preferred
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Physical RequirementsM - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
