Overview
Our client, a physician-led healthcare organization, is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to provide clinical leadership and oversight for senior living communities across the Rochester market. This is an opportunity to lead a regional medical program while providing direct patient care and shaping healthcare delivery for a growing, mission-driven organization.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Our client partners with senior living operators to deliver embedded clinical services that promote continuity of care, resident safety, and operational efficiency. The care model emphasizes regional physician leadership and scalable, high-quality healthcare delivery in assisted living settings.
Responsibilities- Serve as primary medical leader for assisted living communities across the Rochester region
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff
- Provide direct medical care to residents as needed
- Establish and uphold clinical standards, protocols, and best practices for senior living care
- Oversee medical operations across 12+ senior living facilities
- Participate in provider hiring and onboarding decisions
- Partner with executive leadership to align clinical care with organizational goals
- Lead, mentor, and support clinical providers as a resource for complex medical decision-making
- Champion patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based care
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain current knowledge of geriatric care best practices
Required:
- MD or DO with active, unrestricted New York medical license
- Medicare and Medicaid participation eligibility
- Minimum 5-8 years of clinical experience
- Experience caring for geriatric populations
- Strong clinical judgment and leadership presence
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead providers and serve as regional medical authority
Preferred:
- Senior-level or geriatric medicine expertise
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms, billing systems, and coding standards
- Experience with care coordination programs
- Note:
Formal management experience not required
- Lead and shape a regional medical program in Rochester
- Drive best-in-class care delivery for senior living populations
- Collaborate with experienced executive and operational leadership
- Make meaningful impact on community-based healthcare delivery
- Balance clinical practice with strategic medical leadership
