Job Details:

• Work day/night rotation shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• 8-week contract length

• Patient ratio of 1:5 with adults and geriatrics

• Every other weekend requirement

• Must be available to work every other holiday if needed

• Floating required within skillset

• 24-hour orientation period

• EPIC charting experience required

• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white

• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not compact)

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• Must live more than 75 miles from facility

• Clinical skills required: IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, emergency care for adults and pediatrics, stroke care, trauma care, and triage

• Work with specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment

• Handle all emergency diagnoses including gunshot wounds, ortho trauma, and spinal cord injuries

This is a 528-bed acute care teaching facility that is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The emergency department features a state-of-the-art, 24/7 facility with centralized layout for rapid patient care, advanced diagnostic technology, a dedicated pediatric ED, a discreet crisis intervention unit, and a trauma suite located steps from the ambulance entrance. The hospital is affiliated with major healthcare organizations and offers several specialized services with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams.
