Job Opportunity Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our MS/Tele unit specializing in medical/surgical and telemetry care. This position will primarily involve caring for overflow patients from the Emergency Department within a flexible care space.

• Weekend Coverage:
  Every Other Weekend (4 shifts per contract)
• Float Requirement:
  Yes, including ED holding patients

• Provide compassionate and competent care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Monitor patients utilizing cardiac telemetry and respond to emergencies.
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as required.
• Conduct thorough assessments and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
• Perform IV therapy, including starting and managing peripheral lines.
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airway needs.
• Enforce isolation precautions and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Must be proficient with the Epic charting system.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) preferred
• Competency in the use of cardiac monitoring equipment and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

This position is located in a 14-bed overflow unit designed to accommodate patients boarding in the Emergency Department. The unit may see fluctuations in patient volume based on demand, offering a dynamic working environment.
