Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts with every other weekend coverage required

• Must maintain patient ratios of 1:3 during days, 1:4 during nights, and 1:3 on weekends

• Must be able to handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for Med Surg when needed

• Float required to ICU or medical-surgical units

• Minimum 1 year of experience required

• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions

• Must be located 75+ miles from facility (local rule applies)

• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• 24 hours of orientation provided

• Scrub color:
Any combination of navy and white

• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

• Perform IV therapy, peripheral line care and management

• Manage respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management

• Work with patients requiring airway management, BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions

• All patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring

• Up to 5 hours of billable pre-start modules required

This 528-bed tertiary care hospital features a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients from various departments including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The unit specializes in caring for adult acute care patients requiring more specialized care than general medical-surgical units can provide, with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
