The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice.
OverviewThis position is part of the Community-Based Programs Department. The Community Based Family Therapist is responsible for providing individual and family counseling to youth and their families at identified recreational centers. They also provide crisis response, consultation and information and referral services. They are responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments that identify the immediate and longer-term needs of the youth referred.
Schedule: Full time 35 hours per week.
- During the school calendar year, 1:30-9:00 pm
- During school breaks, 9:00 am-4:30 pm and/or 10:30 am-6:00 pm
- During school half days, 11 am
-7 pm - During summer months, 8:30 am-4:00 pm and/or 10:00 am-5:30 pm
- Crisis response/intervention
- Consultation maintains professional relationship with staff
- Assessment/triage
- Child and family counseling
- Information dissemination, referrals and referral readiness support
- Case and program record keeping
- Psycho-educational group facilitation
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or Education or related field AND 5 years' experience OR equivalent combination / Master’s Degree preferred
- A valid driver's license
- Strong Knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Knowledge of youth serving systems
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent literacy and communication skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Advanced knowledge of Internet Explorer
Pay Rate: $22-$25 per hour
- All offers may be contingent on a Background check and Driving record & Automobile insurance that meets agency insurance carrier requirements.
