Lead Technician – Rochester, NY
Bio Life Plasma Services invites applications for a Lead Technician at our new plasma donation facility in Rochester, NY. The facility will open October 2025. This position supports donor screening, processing, and sample collection while providing center leadership, training, and operational oversight.
Responsibilities- Screen, process, and collect samples for new and repeat donors.
- Maintain proficiency in Medical History, Phlebotomy, and Sample Processing.
- Oversee operational flow, including change of lot number, quarterly tube sealer maintenance, and response to alarm analysis for Aurora and PCS2 machines.
- Train new and existing staff on donor center procedures; provide coaching and leadership to support center management.
- Maintain customer‑service standards, greet donors, answer phones, and keep the donor floor orderly.
- Perform non‑core tasks, including routine equipment checks, record keeping, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with center roles to ensure donor and staff safety and exceptional customer experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in Medical History, Phlebotomy, and Sample Processing.
- Minimum one‑year internal experience with Bio Life preferred.
- Strong verbal communication, customer‑service skills, and ability to read and follow SOPs.
- Physical ability to walk and stand entire shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain hygiene (prolonged glove wear for 90% of tasks).
- Leadership qualities, integrity, fairness, honesty, perseverance, patient‑centered mindset, and effective coaching skills.
- Competency in 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and continuous improvement.
Hourly wage range: $21.00 – $28.88. This role is non‑exempt. Eligible employees may participate in medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, vacation, sick time, and other benefits. Additional short‑term incentives may be offered.
