Job DescriptionThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Acute Care provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and plays an integral role in the physical and emotional comfort of patients and their families. The LPN provides direct patient care in collaboration with other health‑care team members and completes other tasks to support patient care. The NYS Education Department differentiated scope of practice of LPNs and RNs provides the document used for determining tasks that the LPN may perform.

Per Diem Program I: 32 hours per 8‑week schedule block.
Level II Requirements- Provides preceptorship of new hire PCT or new hire Level I or II LPN orientees upon completion of the Ancillary Preceptor Course.
- Completes required annual training on preceptor enrichment, gerontology course, and earns continuing education credits.
$27.43 – $35.34 per hour. The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Education:
Fulfills educational requirements for licensure as an LPN in New York State. Licensed in NYS as an LPN. - Experience:
- Level II:
At least 1 year experience as an LPN in an acute care hospital or 2 years in long term care is required. - Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross BLS) upon hire. When CPR renewal due, American Heart Association BLS is the only certification accepted.
