Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Part Time, Nights

Highland Hospital is seeking a Part Time Medical Technologist to join its lab team. Candidates will work a 40‑hour schedule on a bi‑weekly basis, typically 2 weekdays one week and 3 weekdays the following week, with 8‑hour shifts.

The Technologist is responsible for timely and accurate test analysis using moderately complex methods and/or instrumentation.

Responsibilities include:

• Analysis of patient, proficiency, and quality control samples using moderately complex instrumentation or methodology.
• Report results for patient, proficiency, and quality control samples using the computer and/or instrument interfaces.
• Operate laboratory and computer equipment across two of the core areas.
• Perform routine testing operations, operational checks, calibrations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and remedial maintenance of equipment.
• Receive, identify, log, label, process, and report laboratory specimens using established procedures.
• Calculate and record results, including quality control specimens, and refer questionable or inconsistent values to supervisor.
• Aid in maintaining quality control programs by performing determinations, recording data, checking results, taking and documenting corrective action. Report results of any discrepancies to technical specialist, CLT tech II or Supervisor.
• Refer persistent or difficult problems to section head or in‑charge technologist.
• Telephone STAT and/or critical tests and critical values as required by laboratory policy and procedure.

$33.84 – $43.99 per hour

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

• Education:
  
  BS in Medical Laboratory Technology or meet NYSDOH requirements for licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Experience:
  
  One year as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist preferred.
• License/Certification
  
  Required:
  
  license or permit for Clinical Laboratory Technologist as determined by regulatory authorities.
• Skills:
  
  Ability to perform laboratory processes; can prioritize and multi‑task.
