* The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
*** Responsibilities:
** As a pharmacy technician, provides specialized support, oversight, and leadership in specified area. Has advanced knowledge of specific task or operation and assists in training, troubleshooting, and process improvement. Responsibilities and tasks are consistent with state, federal and local regulations; consistent with the functions of a pharmacy technician. Although a majority of their assigned duties will be in their specialized area, they will be assigned to other pharmacy technician duties as needed to support the department.
** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
**** TRAINING AND COMPETENCY
*** For their specialty area:  + Develops and maintain training materials specific to their assigned specialty area  + Actively participates in training of new technicians  + Ensures competency is maintained and develops competency programs where appropriate  + Maintains documentation of completed training and competency  + Provides feedback to supervisor when issues are identified or additional training/information is required to improve performance with tasks/processes
** PROCESS AND PROCEDURES
*** For their specialty area:  + Maintains workflow and identifies opportunities to reduce waste of resources and maximize efficiency  + Actively seeks process improvement strategies and brings forward creative solutions  + Implements new procedures in conjunction with supervisor and/or pharmacy management  + Ensures all technicians are following proper process and procedure; provides feedback and remediation if necessary  + Provides data and metrics as available to management to monitor efficiency and efficacy of processes  + Review upcoming ambulatory infusion center schedules for spikes in upcoming usage or for scheduled infusion appointments for low usage medications we may not routinely carry
* Work with Pharmacy Buyer to coordinate the ordering, labeling, and restocking of patient-specific medications ordered as part of a patient assistance program or white bag supply
* Complete unit inspections as requested by management (Wilmot location only)
** Ordering
* ** Create draft of  order for all medications ordered through Cardinal / Willow Inventory
* Create draft of order for all supplies (needles, syringes, tubing, etc.)
** Receiving
* ** Receive shipments within Willow inventory and/or all scripts
* Unpack and restock all medication and supply orders
* Drop-ship/patient specific orders
* Medline* Cardinal medication orders
* Non Hazardous
* Hazardous (includes wipe down of hazardous medications)
** Inventory Management
*** Rotate stock of all medications when re-stocking
* Perform pyxis restock as requested by management
* Performs monthly check for expired medications in the pharmacy stock
** TROUBLESHOOTING
* ** For their specialty area:  + Able to troubleshoot all common issues with any software or hardware utilized  + Handles most complex issues and triages as necessary  + Contacts and coordinates with vendor field technicians or support as appropriate  + Always notifies appropriate staff, supervisors and management if the issue will impact operational workflow or if there are changes to the work process
* Outside of their specialty area are able to troubleshoot issues with commonly used pharmacy technology including eRecord, Pyxis, and CII Safe providing support to the department when able
* Assists with handling of workflow issues in all areas of the department as an experienced technician
* Notify buyer of any invoice/order discrepancies
** STAFFING
* ** Provides coverage to their specialized area on a routine basis, assisting in daily work flow and during downtime
* Consistently acts as a role model for team members, following all standard operating procedures, policies and regulations
* Maintains skills in other areas outside their specialty area to allow for staffing flexibility and assigned duties as needed
