Job Description
Special Per Diem Option - OR Surgical Technologist. At enhanced rates for a limited time period. Program requires specific experience level and scheduling requirements.
A Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care. The Surgical Technologist has specific responsibilities, during and after surgery to assure patient safety and enhance positive outcomes.

Job Requirements- Education:
Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited educational program for surgical technologists and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); or is otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law (i.e., candidate provides evidence that he/she worked as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 2015;
candidate provides evidence of completing a military surgical technology program). Associates degree preferred. - Experience:
2 years of Surgical Technologist experience. - License/Certification
Required:
American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification required; certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (unless otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law) - Skills:
Aseptic Technique and in-depth knowledge of surgical equipment highly desirable. Good communication, positive attitude, team-player. Ability to maintain composure in stressful and/or emergency situations.
